Tigers Pay Price For Errors In Loss To Tucson

AP

TACOMA - Carl Nichols and Jose Tolantino each singled in a run yesterday in a six-run sixth inning as Tucson capitalized on error-plagued Tacoma to beat Tacoma 10-6 in a Pacific Coast League game.

The Tigers committed five errors. Three of those were in the sixth, along with four walks, three by relief pitcher Tim McCoy.

The Toros scored three runs in the first, one on a single by Javier Ortiz and two more on an error.

Tucson, with a 4-3 lead, sent 10 men to the plate in the sixth.

The Tigers were led by Tim Casey, who had two solo homers.
