`John Patrol' Sweeps Aurora; 18 Arrested
King County police officers targeting prostitution arrested 18 men Tuesday in the 16500 block of Aurora Avenue North, said police spokesman Tony Burtt.
Seventeen of the men were arrested on investigation of soliciting for prostitution and booked into King County Jail, he said. One man was arrested for driving with a revoked driver's license.
Burtt said about 20 detectives and officers participated in two separate ``John Patrols.'' The other took place in the 14800 block of Pacific Highway South in the SeaTac area, where 20 men were arrested for soliciting for prostitution.
Burtt said police officers made the arrests by posing as prostitutes. Thirty-four of the 38 men were from King County and South Snohomish County. Four were from out of state.
Burtt said King County police have arrested about 150 men in about a dozen such patrols this year.
