Young Eastside Woman Vanishes
REDMOND - Friends and family of a missing 18-year-old Redmond woman are circulating more than 11,000 fliers throughout the Puget Sound area in an attempt to locate her.
Erin MacGregor last was seen asleep at her parents' Sahalee home last Thursday morning, said her mother, Annie Schubert.
``She's the best one in the family about leaving notes or telling someone where she is,'' Schubert said.
Today, 10,000 fliers are being sent to Puget Sound-area real-estate agents, said Sue Brodie, who works with Schubert in a real-estate office. Another 1,500 fliers have been tacked up all over the Eastside, and some were put up in downtown Seattle near a nightclub MacGregor often visited, Schubert said.
MacGregor, who graduated from Redmond High School in June, had three job interviews lined up last Thursday but did not make it to any of them, Schubert said.
Only the clothing she planned to wear to the interviews is missing from her closet, her mother said.
Schubert was not alarmed when her daughter failed to return that evening because she often spent the night at her boyfriend's home. But the following day, when MacGregor's boyfriend and another friend had not heard from her, Schubert phoned police.
King County police have no clues as to MacGregor's whereabouts.
``We don't know if she has taken off, or if something happened to her,'' said police spokesman Tony Burtt.
He said information on MacGregor has been entered into the National Crime Information Center computer, where it can be read by police agencies across the country and in Canada.
Schubert said no money has been withdrawn from her bank account and her credit card has not been used.
A few weeks ago, she said, MacGregor's boyfriend was assaulted by a stranger at a Redmond gas station who pulled him from his car and asked him if he was MacGregor's boyfriend. When he said ``Yes,'' the stranger hit him in the face and said, `` `Your girlfriend is dead,' '' Schubert said.
The following day, MacGregor's boyfriend said he found a note on his car that also said ``Your girlfriend is dead,'' Schubert said.
``We didn't really pay too much attention to it because Erin doesn't have any enemies,'' Schubert said.
Burtt said the note and altercation ``add more mysteriousness to the case,'' but because MacGregor's boyfriend could not provide a good description of the man, there is little to go on.
Erin MacGregor is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing about 125 pounds, with long blond hair and green eyes. Her car, a 1985 blue and silver Honda CRX with license number 348 BKL, also is missing.
