Missing Redmond Woman's Car Found
Seattle police have recovered the car of an 18-year-old Redmond-area woman who has been missing for several weeks.
The vehicle was recovered Wednesday in an apartment complex in the Columbia City area of south Seattle. Police say it was abandoned.
Erin MacGregor was last seen sleeping at her parents' Sahalee home Sept. 19. She did not show up for three job interviews planned for that day.
King County detectives began checking the vehicle for evidence yesterday and have been canvassing the Columbia City neighborhood displaying her picture and speaking with residents, said Tony Burtt, a King County Police spokesman.
``Up until now we've had no leads at all,'' Burtt said. ``At least this (finding the car) gives us a starting point.''
Redmond police are also still looking for a 26-year-old woman reported missing this week.
Jami Sherer was expected to stop by her mother's Bellevue home Sunday afternoon to pick up her 2-year-old son but never arrived.
Redmond police say there are ``some obvious similarities'' in the two cases, but have no evidence to believe the two disappearances are related.
Sherer's car is still missing. It's a 1980 gray Mazda RX7, license number 541 AHX.
