TACOMA - Reliever Kevin Campbell retired seven of the eight hitters he faced to preserve the Tacoma Tigers' 11-6 Pacific Coast League baseball victory over Calgary last night in Cheney Stadium.
Calgary led 4-0 on back-to-back home runs by Chuck Jackson and Tino Martinez in the top of the third. The Tigers scored three times in the bottom of the inning on two walks, a double by Scott Hemond and an infield out.
In the Tacoma fifth, the Tigers sent 12 men to the plate, scoring Tacoma's biggest inning at home this season and chased Calgary starter Keith Helton (3-3).
Calgary closed the gap with single runs in the sixth and seventh innings before Campbell entered the game. Tacoma added two runs in the eighth.
