Woman's Death Linked To Drug Trafficking

MONTESANO, Grays Harbor County

Three young men stabbed a 50-year-old woman to death because she knew they planned to bring drugs into the state from Oregon, Grays Harbor County prosecutors allege.

Raymond Lee Baca, 18, of Ocean Shores, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Virginia L. Barsic, whose body was found in a shallow grave near her triplex apartment near Ocean Shores. Baca's bail is set at $200,000.

In court documents, Baca was described as "the ringleader, the instigator" in the killing. Prosecutors say he tried to break the victim's neck before stabbing her with a knife and a screwdriver early Monday.
