Winery Decides To Stick With Current Ad Agency


Stimson Lane Wine & Spirits Ltd., which owns Chateau Ste. Michelle and other wineries, said it decided to keep Cole & Weber Advertising as its ad agency rather than switch to one of several suitors.

The Woodinville-based company said the decision was made after several agencies, including Elgin Syferd Advertising, McCann-Erickson Inc. and Borders, Perrin & Norrander made presentations.

Cole & Weber has done work for Stimson Lane for 14 years.

Kerry Godes, a spokeswoman for Stimson Lane, said the bulk of Stimson Lane's advertising is done for its Columbia Crest line rather than its better-known Chateau Ste. Michelle wines.

Cole & Weber recently ran a $1.5 million advertising campaign for Columbia Crest featuring Jeff Smith, cookbook author and TV personality known as "The Frugal Gourmet."
