Baden Athletic-Ball Maker Breaks Ground For Factory
FEDERAL WAY
Athletic-ball maker Baden Sports Inc. broke ground Friday on a $2.7 million factory and warehouse here.
Baden makes footballs, basketballs, baseballs and other sports balls, selling them domestically and in 27 other countries. Currently located in Renton, E.C. Schindler, company owner and president, wanted to relocate from leased space to company-owned space.
Schindler expects Baden's revenues to grow, particularly on the strength of its growing international sales, from $15 million in 1991 to $17.5 million this year.
Baden's 65 employees will move to the new headquarters and warehouse in September. The 60,000-square-foot building will be located on 341st Place and 21st Avenue South.
