DETROIT - Mark Aguirre of the Detroit Pistons might play for Mexico in the Olympic Games in Barcelona.

Though he grew up in Chicago and has been a U.S. citizen his entire life, Aguirre could play for Mexico in the Olympics under a rule that allows players to represent a country where their father was a citizen.

Aguirre, whose grandfather and father were born in Mexico, met this month with Julio Ortiz, Mexican Basketball Federation president, to discuss the possibility, The Detroit News reported.
