`Batman' Keeps Top Spot, `League' Has Strong Start At Box Office

LOS ANGELES - "Batman Returns" kept the box-office crown for a third straight weekend as the baseball film "A League of Their Own" and the Eddie Murphy comedy "Boomerang" had strong debuts, according to figures released yesterday by Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc.

"Sister Act" was fourth, "Unlawful Entry" was fifth, "Housesitter" claimed sixth and "Patriot Games" was seventh.

In eighth was the re-released Walt Disney animated film "Pinocchio"; "Lethal Weapon 3" took ninth spot and "Far and Away" was 10th.
