1,066 Workers At Boeing Get Warn Notices

RENTON

The Boeing Co. yesterday notified 1,066 more workers in its Puget Sound plants that they could get laid off in 60 days.

The company has issued 60-day notices to large groups of workers four other times this year, and it plans two more warnings on Aug. 28 and Oct. 2.

So far this year the company has laid off 1,858 workers as part of a campaign to cut 6,500 jobs this year, including 3,000 via layoff and the rest through attrition.
