Asians For Bush To Talk
-- Asian Americans for Bush/Quayle '92 are hosting a luncheon today to talk about why they support the president and vice president - and why other Asian Americans should, too.
The lunch and discussion will be from noon til 2:30 p.m. at the Ocean City Restaurant, 609 S. Weller St., in Seattle. Cost of the buffet: $10.
-- The Rev. Jesse Jackson will be in Seattle tomorrow to promote voter participation in general and local candidates in particular. He will speak at the 8 a.m. worship service of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 124 21st Ave.
During the day he'll be appearing at a U.S.-Canadian labor rally in Blaine, Whatcom County, and in Tacoma with gubernatorial candidate Mike Lowry.
And he'll be the featured guest at a "Gala Seattle Salute to the Rev. Jesse Jackson" from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Queen Anne home of Ida Cole, 1100 Fifth Ave. W.
The gala is a fund-raiser by state Rep. Jesse Wineberry and the House Democratic caucus.
