IRS Seizes Jerry Lee Lewis' Pianos For $1.6 Million In Back Taxes

AP

NESBIT, Miss. - Internal Revenue Service agents seized pianos, furniture and mementos from Jerry Lee Lewis' house and planned to auction them unless he pays more than $1.6 million in back taxes.

"The Lewises are aware of what is happening, and their reaction is abject horror," said the singer's attorney, who has been trying to settle the tax bill.

Agents went to Lewis' house Thursday and took three pianos, guitars and electric keyboards, along with velvet chairs, a grandfather clock, concert posters and household appliances.

No auction date was set.
