VANCOUVER, Wash. - A 17-year-old youth has been sentenced to 77 years in prison for strangling an elderly Hazel Dell woman.

Anthony Robert Powers was sentenced in Clark County Superior Court for the Oct. 11 death of Petra Johnson, 82. He had pleaded guilty last month to first-degree murder.

Johnson was killed in her home by Powers and his 21-year-old brother, Bryan, as the climax to a two-day crime spree.

Bryan Powers was sentenced earlier to life in prison without parole. Anthony Powers told Judge Roger Bennett when he pleaded guilty that the brothers took turns strangling the victim.
