Lynnwood Woman Missing -- Hairstylist Reportedly Left Her Job Abruptly, Her Paycheck Behind
LYNNWOOD - Sheriff's detectives are investigating the disappearance of a 22-year-old Lynnwood woman.
Tracey Brazzel was last seen May 26 as she left Kodiak Ron's Pub at Airport Road and Highway 99 south of Everett. Her white Ford Probe was later found parked near her home at the Keeler's Corner Apartments in the 4500 block of 164th Street Southwest.
"It was not like her," sheriff's spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said of Brazzel's disappearance. "Normally she keeps in close contact with her family and friends."
Brazzel's mother, Margarett Brazzel of Mukilteo, who was on vacation out of the country when her daughter disappeared, said she has "no clue whatsoever" to her daughter's whereabouts. She declined further comment.
Earlier on the day she was last seen, Brazzel abruptly quit her job in the middle of her shift as a hairstylist at a Mill Creek salon, according to Jorgensen.
Laina Collier, manager at the Great Clips salon, said she spoke to Brazzel on the phone later that day, and Brazzel assured her she would return her key by the end of the day. She never did, nor did she pick up her last paycheck.
Collier thinks Brazzel quit the salon - where she had worked for three months - because of personality conflicts with co-workers.
Brazzel had broken up with her boyfriend shortly before she started working at the salon, Collier said, but they had gotten back together just days before her disappearance.
Collier said Brazzel had also told a stylist that she had run into another ex-boyfriend at a bar. Collier said the man reportedly had started stalking Brazzel.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Jorgensen said she didn't know anything about an alleged stalker.
Brazzel is white, 5 feet 2, 130 pounds, with blue eyes and blond hair. She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt turned inside-out, bluejeans and black shoes, and was carrying a small red purse.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information on the case to call 388-3523.
