Lawyer Claims Police Tried To Bully High-School Player
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - A lawyer claims police investigators tried to bully a high-school football player into changing his account of how a teammate punched a referee.
"The Beverly Hills Police Department is covering its own tracks and protecting this referee," said Leo Terrell, who represents both players, Kumasi Simmons and Vincent Brooks.
Simmons, 16, punched referee Kenneth Smoltrys in the face during an Oct. 20 game between Simmons' Centennial High and Beverly Hills
