SEATTLE - A North Seattle man who set a string of arson fires at his apartment complex last summer has been sentenced to 10 1/2 years in prison.
Kevin Todd Swalwell, 32, was arrested after a King County detective who suspected him in a 1994 house arson learned he lived in the complex.
One of the residents at the Echo Lake Apartments complex, in the 19500 block of Aurora Avenue North, suffered minor injuries during one of the fires, which occurred in mid-July.
The Feb. 21, 1994, house arson occurred while Swalwell was living in the neighborhood with his grandmother. At the time, he blamed the fire on his cousin, who subsequently passed a polygraph.
Swalwell pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree arson and one count of second-degree arson.
