Yakima Meadows Has Three-Way Dead Heat

YAKIMA - A three-way dead heat occurred in the third race at Yakima Meadows as a trio of $8,000 claimers - Fly Like A Angel (jockey Vicky Aragon), Allihaveonztheradio (Nathan Thacker) and Terri After Five (Gallyn Mitchell) - hit the wire together after the mile.

The last three-way dead heat was in 1990 at Arlington Park in Illinois, according to the Daily Racing Form's Racing Manual.

Lively Lucy set the early fractions in the seven-horse field before giving way.

The winners covered the mile in a time of 1:39 2/5 on the fast track.

The dead heat forced six exacta payoffs.

Reasonably Royal (7-1) sped six furlongs in 1:10 3/5 to win the Railbird Handicap at Yakima Meadows by 3 1/2 lengths. The win aboard the 3-year-old filly was the fourth victory of the day for jockey Vicky Aragon.

She also won aboard Candy Festival in the second, Fly Like an Angel in the third and Polvita in the seventh.
