Husky Cycling Team Grabs First-Day Lead
REDMOND - Freshman Jennie Reed of Kirkland won the 500-meter time trial and rode on the winning six-person team in the Italian pursuit as the Husky Cycling Team from the University of Washington took the lead after the first day of the U.S. Collegiate Track Cycling Championships at the Marymoor Park Velodrome.
Reed was joined in the Italian pursuit yesterday by Guillermo Herrera, Ben Jacobsen, Randy Boettcher, Mark Roughgarden and Laura Reed, Jennie's sister.
The championships continue through tomorrow.
