Adam Kline Tapped For Pelz Senate Seat
SEATTLE - Southeast Seattle Democrats have nominated attorney Adam Kline to fill the two years remaining in the term of 37th District state Sen. Dwight Pelz.
Kline is an environmental and civil-rights activist. His name will be submitted to the Metropolitan King County Council for approval this week.
As required by the state constitution, two other names also will be submitted, Lynn French and Jan Bianchi, but by tradition the council endorses the top choice of the precinct committee officers.
The vacancy occurs because Pelz was appointed to the County Council to replace Ron Sims, who was appointed King County Executive to replace Gary Locke, who was elected governor.
