I-5 Crash Kills Fort Lewis Soldier

DUPONT, Pierce County - A 21-year-old Fort Lewis soldier, Robert Rinehart, was killed early today when his car crashed into the rear of a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Interstate 5 near DuPont.

Rinehart's car wandered onto the shoulder and hit the other car about 12:30 a.m., the State Patrol reported. The second car was occupied by Randall Voss, 33, of Aberdeen, who was not injured. It was uncertain why Voss' car was on the shoulder, troopers said.
