Construction Is Under Way For New Mormon Church
ISSAQUAH
The Bellevue Washington Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints broke ground Saturday for a building on the east Sammamish Plateau.
The 25,000-square-foot Plateau Stake Center at 26529 S.E. Duthie Hill Road will initially serve the Issaquah 2nd and 3rd Wards.
The Bellevue Washington Stake is a geographic entity of 11 wards, which are Mormon congregations of about 400 to 500 members. It has grown from a single ward in the 1960s to more than 40 wards in Bellevue, Redmond, Woodinville, Kirkland, Issaquah, Fall City, Carnation, North Bend and Renton.
