Everett Mall May Undergo Expansion
EVERETT - Everett Mall might be expanded by nearly 261,000 square feet, including a proposed new cluster of buildings for retail space, restaurants and a 14-screen theater.
Hampshire Management's proposal also includes a hotel on mall property. Most of the new retail and theater buildings would be between the existing Sears and Mervyn's stores, and Sears would be expanded.
The mall's free-standing cinema building would be demolished, while several theaters inside the mall would be converted into retail space.
A transit center would be built to serve Everett Transit, Community Transit and future Sound Transit commuter buses. The Interurban Trail would be extended from the mall's southern edge to Everett Mall Way and West Mall Drive.
The proposal is under review by the Everett Planning Department.
