Part Of Bridge To Be Closed

Seattle Times Staff: Seattle Times News Services

SEATTLE - The right lane of northbound Highway 99 across the Aurora Bridge is to be closed today from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. while state Department of Transportation crews repair damage from last month's fatal bus crash.

Motorists are advised to anticipate delays in the other two lanes. The permanent fix will cost about $18,000, DOT spokesman Bill Southern said.

At 4 p.m., two hours after the lane is scheduled to reopen, the Fremont Arts Council is planning a candlelight ceremony in observance of the Nov. 27 accident. The ceremony will be held at the Fremont Troll, at North 36th Street, under the Aurora Bridge.
