Kent Rape Similar To Other Attacks
KENT - A rape here last month bears similarities to previous attacks by a serial rapist in Kent, Tacoma and Parkland, police said.
A 23-year-old woman was walking on Canyon Drive in Kent around 10 p.m. Feb. 19 when she was grabbed by a man who forced her into a secluded area about 50 feet from the road. The attacker implied that he had a knife and threatened to hurt the woman if she did not cooperate. He then sexually assaulted her.
Police said that while there are similarities between this case and 14 others committed by a man since August, it is uncertain whether the attacker is the same person. A profiler is assisting investigators.
The rapist in the Feb. 19 attack was described as white, 25 to 35 years old, with dark eyes, short brown hair and no facial hair. His hair was combed straight in a Caesar style. He was wearing a black ski jacket that was blue in the chest area.
Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call Kent police at 253-856-5925.
