Kent Man Charged In Rape Cases
SEATTLE - A Kent man accused of raping or attempting to rape several women at knifepoint was charged yesterday with multiple crimes by the King County Prosecutor's Office.
Jamal Khan, 34, is alleged to have approached at least four prostitutes on separate occasions since March of last year, agreed to pay for sexual favors, then sought to rape them, according to charging documents.
He is charged with two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of attempted rape and one count of kidnapping.
Khan is being held at the Regional Justice Center in Kent. A cash-only bail of $500,000 has been requested.
In each instance, according to court documents, Khan approached the women as they worked along Pacific Highway South in the Des Moines-Kent area. After agreeing to pay for sex, he then would drive the women to a secluded area and rape them or attempt to rape them.
