Adopt-A-Stream group wins grant for survey

Residents whose homes border North Creek or its tributaries in the South Everett, Mill Creek and Bothell areas are sought by the Adopt-A-Stream Foundation.
The foundation, based at McCollum County Park, has won a contract with the state Department of Ecology to survey all locations where North Creek or its tributaries flow through pipes or culverts. Adopt-A-Stream will determine which pipes block salmon migration and recommend solutions.
In some cases, government grants might pay for culvert repairs or replacement. The survey will continue through October.
For information call Dave Steiner at the foundation, 425-316-8592.
