Authorities watch shoreline for boy's body
DECEPTION PASS STATE PARK, Island County - With the suspension of the search for a boy who apparently fell down a cliff at Deception Pass last week, Island County authorities now are keeping an eye on the shoreline and area beaches for traces of the body of Jonathan Camacho, 12, of Draper, Utah.
The boy vanished last Wednesday on a visit to Deception Pass State Park with his family. Search dogs and human trackers traced him to an 80-foot cliff where a small, personal trinket was found along with scuffed earth and a broken sapling. Authorities said it is believed the boy fell from the cliff near the main beach trail into Deception Pass.
Sonar could be used in a week or two to search the treacherous waters at the pass, sheriff's spokeswoman Jan Smith said.
