OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens will be the subject of a reality series that will air on HBO this summer. The cable network said yesterday that the one-hour show, produced in conjunction with NFL Films, is a football version of "Survivor."
"Hard Knocks: Training Camp With The Baltimore Ravens," will air at 8 p.m. PDT on six consecutive Wednesdays, beginning Aug. 1 and ending Sept. 5.
"We have never done this sort of thing in our 40-year history," NFL Films President Steve Sabol said. "It will be a very compelling look at what it takes to build a team and defend a world championship."
The Ravens open camp July 29 at Western Maryland College in Westminster.
Notes
• Linebacker Corey Moore limped into the Buffalo Bills' minicamp yesterday, nearly two weeks after he was shot in the leg. Moore did not dress for practice. Training camp opens in July, and Coach Gregg Williams said Moore should be ready.
• The Washington Redskins signed linebacker Robert Jones and agreed to a contract with offensive lineman Ben Coleman. Jones, 31, a former first-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys, was a starter for the Miami Dolphins the past three seasons. Coleman, 30, is an eight-year veteran who played with the San Diego Chargers last year.
• Defensive back Corey Chavous and punter Scott Player signed one-year tender offers with the Arizona Cardinals.
• The Louisiana Superdome's ability to sell its name, a key portion of the governor's plan to keep the Saints in New Orleans, received approval yesterday from the state's House of Representatives.
The bill would allow the Superdome to be renamed for a corporation. The money would go to the Saints, paid in annual installments. The House already passed a similar bill.
• Defensive end Joel Smeenge, an 11-year veteran who signed with the Chicago Bears a month ago, retired.
• Cleveland cornerback Lewis Sanders has a strained ligament in his right foot but should be back on the field for training camp in late July.
• Wide receiver Ron Dixon will miss the rest of the New York Giants' summer workouts after having his appendix removed.
