Notable alumni: Jawann Oldham, a 7-foot center who played eight years in the NBA and led the 1976 Cleveland team (named best prep boys team in state history by The Seattle Times) to a state championship; state representative Kip Tokuda; the Kings of Swing, 19-piece dance band formed in 1944, which is still active today.

Last state championship: 1976 (boys basketball).

Bet you didn't know: Cleveland commemorated its 75-year anniversary during the last weekend of September with a two-day celebration featuring a dinner, flag ceremony, a performance by a jazz band and a large assembly, with several speakers. The celebration had been planned for six months.
