Bet you didn't know: Everett, coached by UW coaching legend Enoch Bagshaw, beat Cleveland Tech 16-7 on Jan. 1, 1921 in Everett in a game billed as the national championship. When a gray seagull glided in a figure-eight pattern over the field, the crowd of 11,000 cheered. The good-luck flight helped lead the school to change its nickname.
