Bethel QB on all-star roster
Bethel quarterback Johnny DuRocher has been selected to the West roster for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl football game Jan. 5 at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. The third annual game will be televised live by ESPN2 at 4 p.m.
DuRocher is the only Northwest player among the 78 high-school seniors chosen to play in the game. Selections were made by Tom Lemming, ESPN.com's college recruiting expert.
All-American Bowl representatives will be at Bethel High School today to present DuRocher with a game jersey at a 7:45 a.m. pep rally.
Last year, Shelton Sampson of Lakes and Dominic Dixon of O'Dea were named to the West team, which won 26-6.
