A cancellation and new shows at OTB

On the Boards has announced the cancellation of an Oct. 24-25 run of "cameraworld," a music-video work by artist Mikel Rouse.

OTB will replace the show with a different subscription offering: a Dec. 17-21 run of "Word Becomes Flesh," a dance/spoken-word piece by poet Marc Bamuthi Joseph.

Also, OTB is adding two additional shows to its fall schedule: a musical performance called "The Fool" by the V, a 27-member musical ensemble (Oct. 24-25) and another by the instrumental band Rachel's (Nov. 15).

For further details, call OTB at 206-217-9888.

'Artistic picks' of Fringe

Three Seattle Fringe Festival shows have been designated this year's "artistic picks": "Anaphylaxis" by the Seattle group Throwing Bones; "Sabotage: In Fine Form" by the New Mexico ensemble Burning Cities New Works Co.; and "Trick Boxing," by Sossy Productions of Minneapolis.

The shows were chosen from a crowded field by a panel of Seattle-area theater professionals. They will be staged on a triple bill tonight, with "Trick Boxing" at 6 p.m., "Anaphylaxis" at 8 p.m. and "Sabotage" at 10 p.m., at Freehold Theatre, second floor, 1529 10th Ave., Seattle.

Tickets are $15 per individual show, or $40 for all three. Info: 206-322-2018, or
