February focus on black history

Central Area Motivation Program

Founded in 1964, the Central Area Motivation Program (CAMP) was one of Seattle's first anti-poverty agencies. CAMP's many programs include employment counseling; emergency food, housing and clothing services; an energy-assistance program; and child-care services (for more information, visit www.cityofseattle.net/camp/).

From 1979 to 1993, CAMP was headed by current Metropolitan King County Councilman Larry Gossett.
