Stealing peace of mind
A huge rant for the thieves who broke into my sister's house in Ballard and stole her hard-earned tip money, my friend's new laptop with all of her law-school materials on it and, worst of all, her insulin pump (she has diabetes) that she saved $6,000 to buy. When these idiots realize the pump is not a pager, which it sort of resembles, could they please return it, with the other stuff too, and stop stealing from honest, hard-working citizens.
Dog-gone rant
My rant is for people who let their dogs run loose in our public parks and beaches, ignoring signs clearly stating the leash law. It may come as a surprise to you, but not everyone loves your dogs. Especially those of us who are afraid of dogs or allergic to them. With the good weather upon us, I find myself avoiding parks and beaches because of your running dog, and in doing so, I'm giving up my right to enjoy our parks and beaches. I hope those of you who ignore the law and put the right of your dog over another human being find out the location of the many off-leash sites. That way we all will be able to enjoy our beautiful environment.
Parking violators aid gridlock
A rant for drivers who park on streets marked "No Parking" from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. I often see cars parked there during the "no-parking" times. These drivers are selfish and they make long commutes even longer.
Waste-full use of fishing holes
A huge rant for the so-called fishermen who pollute the river banks with their trash. These are generally younger guys who don't give a damn about anything but themselves. Landowners offer access to some great fishing areas but are inclined to put up pay boxes to cover their time to pick up all the garbage these cretins leave behind. You people are lazy pigs.
Be smart — carpool
Traffic is bad enough, but people who refuse to use carpool lanes when they can (i.e. sufficient number of passengers) make it all the more crowded for the rest of us in the other lanes. Please, if you can drive in the carpool lanes, grow some brain cells and use them!
'We approve the following statement... '
A political rant. Why do the candidates have to say, "And I approve of this message"? Obviously, they approve of it.
