Larsen homers 3 times in UW win
Senior Greg Isaacson hit a home run in the bottom of the 10th inning and junior Kyle Larsen finished with three homers as the Washington baseball team beat Arizona 12-11 yesterday at Husky Ballpark.
The Huskies, who trailed 11-3 entering the sixth, scored two in the sixth, two in the eighth and four in the ninth to tie the score. In the ninth, with two outs and none on, Isaacson homered to give UW (24-13-1, 8-4 Pac-10) the series sweep over Arizona (21-18-1, 5-7).
Larsen joined Tyler Davidson and Chad Boudon as the only Huskies to homer three times in one game.
Huskies closer Will Fenton (5-3) got the win for the second straight day
Arizona closer Derek Rodriguez (0-2) gave up four earned runs.

Softball
No. 10 Stanford 3, at No. 5 UW 2 — Meghan Sickler singled home Jessica Allister from second base to give the Cardinal (37-12, 8-4 Pac-10) the win over the Huskies (32-11, 6-4).
Stanford took the lead in the first inning, as Allister's hit drove home two runs. Washington rallied in the fourth as Sarah Hyatt hit a two-run homer.
Humboldt State at Seattle University — Amanda Nilles homered in Game 1 and Game 2 as the Redhawks split a doubleheader, losing 8-6, then winning 12-4 in six innings (eight-run mercy rule). Seattle U. improved to 24-12.
Pacific Lutheran at George Fox — The Lutes ended their season with a doubleheader sweep of GFU, 10-2 and 13-0. Jewel Koury hit a grand slam for the Lutes (28-10, 22-6 Northwest Conference) in Game 1, and Gretchen Ruecker hit a grand slam in Game 2.
Other baseball
At Washington State 8, Arizona State 4 — Grant Richardson's three-run double highlighted a five-run sixth for the Cougars (23-15, 5-7 Pac-10).
WSU starter Garrett Alwert (4-1) earned the win, allowing 12 hits and four runs in 7-1/3 innings. Erik Averill (2-2) took the loss for Arizona State (28-13, 7-8).

Crew
Sarah Hirst of Seattle's Pocock Rowing Center won the lightweight double sculls final, and former UW rower Anna Mickelson won her pairs final at the National Selection Regatta on Lake Mercer near Princeton, N.J. Both advanced to the World Cup Regatta May 28-30 in Munich, Germany.
Seattle's Lianne Nelson and partner Kattie Hammes finished second to Mickelson and Sam McGee in pairs.
Track and field
Willamette swept the men's and women's team titles for the third straight year at the Northwest Conference championships.
Matt McGuirk of Willamette was named NWC male and female coach of the year.
