Several area events will commemorate the Brown v. Board of Education decision. They include:

Panel discussion on the landmark case tomorrow with local judges, attorneys, law professors, educators, elected officials and civic leaders; reception at 5 p.m., program at 6 p.m. at the Seattle University Student Center, Room 160 A and B.

Weeklong series of events at The Evergreen State College, beginning tomorrow with keynote address "50 Years After Brown: The Resegregation of American Schools" by Peter Irons, author of "Jim Crow's Children," 7 p.m. at North Thurston High School Auditorium, 4155 Sixth Ave. N.E., Lacey. Re-enactment of the oral arguments made to the Supreme Court, at 4 p.m. May 17 at the University of Washington's Kane Hall, Room 130. Event will feature Seattle attorney Lem Howell and U.S. District Judge John Coughenour and the entire state Supreme Court.

Special edition of "The Learning Curve" focuses on the achievement gap between white students and students of color at 7 p.m. May 20 and 11:30 a.m. May 23 on KCTS-TV.

YMCA forum for young people and community leaders to celebrate the anniversary of the court decision and discuss how far the country has come, 4-6 p.m. May 25 at New Holly Community Center in Seattle.
