Everett Events Center to host Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton will perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Everett Events Center as part of her "Hello, I'm Dolly" tour. Tickets will go on sale at noon Saturday at the events center, 2000 Hewitt Ave.
Parton plans to perform country and pop standards and newer songs, including bluegrass numbers from her 1999 compact disc, "The Grass Is Blue," and 2001's "Little Sparrow." She will also sing songs recorded with Kenny Rogers and Rod Stewart, and songs from her upcoming CD, "Blue Smoke."
A six-person bluegrass band, The Grascals, will open the concert and play with Parton on some songs. Part of the events center will be curtained off in a scaled-down concert setting that will seat 4,800 people, instead of the center's usual 10,000-seat capacity.
The Tennessee-born Parton first appeared with the Grand Ole Opry at age 13. Now 58, she has performed bluegrass, gospel songs, country and pop hits. The current tour features a retrospective of her career.
Tickets are $39.50 and $59.50, and are available in person at the box office, at www.everetteventscenter.com and at 866-332-8499.
