St. James Cathedral in Seattle will observe a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the victims of Hurricane Katrina on Friday.
President Bush on Sept. 6 declared in a written statement that Friday will be a day "to honor the memory of those who lost their lives, to provide comfort and strength to the families of the victims, and help ease the burden of the survivors."
The church, at 804 Ninth Ave., will hold a special Mass at 5:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.stjames-cathedral.org or call 206-622-3559.
