NW Briefs: Rowers ready for NW indoor
Luanne Mills, indoor rowing world-record holder, of Seattle, and Robert Meenk, European indoor rowing champion, of Olympia will join an expected 250 indoor rowers at the Seattle Center's Center House on Saturday, Jan. 28, for Ergomania! — the Northwest Indoor Rowing Championships.
Ergomania! is in its 19th year and is one of 20 indoor regattas in North America that serve as qualifiers for CRASH-B World Indoor Rowing Championships, Feb. 25 in Boston. The public can view 26 indoor races from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and can participate in free rowing clinics.

• Western Washington's Ryan Diggs and Seattle Pacific's Tony Binetti shared the Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week honors.
• With an NCAA qualifying mark in her first race, Teona Perkins of Seattle Pacific was named the GNAC women's indoor track-and-field athlete of the week.
• Everett defenseman Shaun Heshka was chosen WHL Player of the Week. Heshka recorded one goal and six assists in the three victories.
