Readers respond | Just 1 day? More Seattle must-dos

Lots of you responded with suggestions for visitors who have a day to spend in Seattle.

Many, many more of you looked at our ideas in last Sunday's Travel section and online and sent them off to family, friends and colleagues.

Keep them coming! We're still taking your suggestions and adding them online to our list of reader ideas, so please join in.

Here are a few comments:

• Tillicum Village's salmon dinner at Blake Island State Park. A wonderful boat ride from the waterfront, a very good dinner and some exposure to the Northwest coastal Indian culture.

• Grab a kite at the Gasworks Park Kite Shop at the north end of Lake Union then head over to Gasworks Park for some great flying. "The air is grand," one reader tells us.

• If you're interested in seeing a play or show in town or even some tourist attractions, stop at Ticket/Ticket (locations include the Pike Place Market and at the Broadway Market on Capitol Hill). Very good prices at the last minute.

• A hike in Carkeek Park north of downtown on Puget Sound.

• Every Tuesday, the Museum of Communications, south of downtown, lets visitors see the evolution of telephone systems in the Puget Sound area.

• The Blue Moon Tavern in the University District, an old Seattle standby. Think circa Grateful Dead attire and music.

• A Tennessee visitor seconds one of our ideas: "The downtown harbor cruise was great. It offered amazing views of one of the world's best skylines." (We thank him for his kind compliment, on behalf of the city, of course.)
