PrintGap-year tips
Before pursuing a gap year, check with the admissions office at your preferred college or university to see if they offer deferred admission. Most public schools in Washington state don't; many private schools do.
Warning: Many so-called "gap year" Web sites promote their fee-based services. Weigh financial pros and cons carefully.
