Ex-Marine to run against U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings

A 33-year-old former Marine from Kennewick plans to run next year against U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Pasco, in the district that includes the Tri-Cities and Yakima.

Democrat Jay Clough is a Central Washington University graduate who works for Washington Closure Hanford. He has never run for office.

Also, Connell farmer and former Washington Redskins football player Clint Didier says he's exploring a run against Democratic U.S. Sen. Patty Murray. He told KONA Radio in Pasco he will need $300,000 by the end of December to enter the race. He says the Republican Party needs a sense of urgency to make a successful bid.
