The Mukilteo School District is about 15 miles north of Seattle and just south of Everett, encompassing the city of Mukilteo as well as portions of South Everett and unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north of Lynnwood and Edmonds.
In addition to its schools, the district also operates Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center, which provides vocational programs for high schools from 14 school districts.
The district has been trying to keep up with a wave of incoming elementary students, but plans to build a new school and enlarge others have been put on hold. Although a majority of voters approved two bond requests, the measures fell short of the statutory requirement for passage.
The Mukilteo Schools Foundation raises money to support projects and activities not funded by the district.
