With the opening of Grove Elementary, the district's 11th elementary, and the new Getchell High School, which could open as early as 2010, crowding is easing in the fast-growing Marysville School District northeast of Everett. The new Marysville Secondary Campus, which houses the Arts and Technology High School, Heritage High School and 10th Street Middle School, allows the district to go to three middle schools.
The new Secondary Campus was built with new-home mitigation fees and state matching funds, which meant no increase in voter taxes.
